Why good UX isn't just making things beautiful
Early on, I equated good design with good visuals. A clean interface felt like success.
CampusConnect's first version was clean, and still didn't work — because it solved the wrong problem beautifully.
Good UX is closer to good writing: it's mostly invisible when it's working. Nobody praises a form for being easy to fill out.
I'm trying to care less about how a screen looks in isolation, and more about whether someone can actually finish their task.
